nr° 5 - Bruno 9li and The White Stripes

The Artwork:

Landscape 7 by Bruno 9li from the Mysterium Series

Check his website for more images, most of them completely different from this one; they're mostly very chaotic and the artist usually also uses bright blue in his works like this one:

The Music:
The colours used in Bruno 9li's work should immediately make you think of The White Stripes. They always use only black, red and white for their album colours, and sometimes also their music videos (like Seven Nation Army)

A couple of covers from:

You could also hear We're Going To Be Friends in Napoleon Dymanite,
here's a remix somebody made with movie excerpts:

nr° 4 - Hisham Bharoocha, Moon School, Air and Toploader

A couple of months ago I had already found an image made by Hisham Bharoocha, but I couldn't find any others. Just a while ago I discovered his myspace on which he put several of his creations, mostly photos and colourful collages.

The Artwork:

Moonrise by Hisham Bharoocha

The Music:

I found a couple of songs:
Starhunter by Moonschool a band from L.A.,
by the French experimental band Air
and Toploader's King Harvest cover, Dancing in the Moonlight.

Enjoy!

nr° 3 - Julien Roumagnac and Hooverphonic

I was browsing Julien Roumagnac's photoblog when I found this picture:

The Artwork:

No more music by Julien Roumagnac

The Music:

This photo immediately made me think of Hooverphonic's No More Sweet Music. They actually made a double-album: one of them was called More Sweet Music, while the other one was named No More Sweet Music The track listing is exactly the same, except that there are everytime two different versions of the song.
This one is the More Sweet Music version.
Hooverphonic is a Belgian trip-hop band, their most famous song is Mad About You.

nr° 2 - Michael Craig-Martin, Daft Punk and The Red Hot Chili Peppers

The relation between Craig-Martin's work and the two songs is pretty obvious here.

The Artwork:

Television by Michael Craig-Martion

The Music:

First of all there's Daft Punk with:

and then there are The Red Hot Chili Peppers
(who have apparently split up recently, for a year;
to take a break or that's what I've understood anyway)
with By The Way's Throw Away Your Television

In the following video you can also see Flea playing are great bass-solo, enjoy!

nr° 1 - Peter Max and Nouvelle Vague

Hi,

I'm going to try to post something regularly.
My goal is to find a certain work (picture, collage, painting, stencil, anything really) and then add music (that you can, by the way, download with a simple right-click of your mouse) that has to do with it (with the subject, the colours, the title,... anything. And if I really don't have any inspiration: nothing).

Here's my first go:

The Artwork:

This great collage was made by Peter Max.

The Music:

Blue Monday by Nouvelle Vague.
It's a cover from the famous New Order version.

That's it!
